Public & Permission-First
ReelGrabber is designed for public Instagram URLs, or content you’re allowed to access. Private/restricted profiles and restricted content aren’t supported.

Why Download Photos?
- Save artwork and photography references
- Keep tutorial images offline
- Build moodboards and inspiration folders
What “High Quality” Means on Instagram
Instagram often resizes and compresses images. “High quality” usually means the best available version that Instagram serves for that post — which may still be smaller than the original camera file.
- Uploads may be compressed: If the creator uploaded a smaller image, that’s the maximum you can download.
- Screenshots reduce quality: Downloading is typically better than screenshotting.
- Carousels: Each slide is a separate image; a downloader can fetch each one individually.
How to Save Photos (Step-by-Step)
- Open the Instagram post with the photo you want to save.
- Tap the three dots and choose Copy Link.
- Go to ReelGrabber and paste the link in the box.
- Click Download and your photo will save in seconds.
Tip: For carousel posts (multiple photos), you may see multiple download options—save each slide you need.

Preserve Original Quality
We fetch the highest available resolution that Instagram serves for that post. For carousels, you’ll get each image separately. If you need the true original file, ask the creator to share it directly.
Respect Rights
Only download photos you own or have permission to save. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.
Carousels: Downloading Multiple Photos
- Each slide is separate: carousels are multiple images under one post.
- Save the ones you need: you may get multiple download options—download all or select key slides.
- Order matters: if you’re organizing, rename files with a suffix like
-01,-02.

Troubleshooting
- “Link not found”: Make sure you copied the post link (not the profile link) and that it starts with
https://www.instagram.com. - Private/restricted post: Private/restricted profiles and restricted posts aren’t supported.
- Wrong format: Some posts are reels/videos—try our video guide.
- Quality lower than expected: Instagram may have compressed the upload; the best fix is asking the creator for the original file.

FAQ
Can I download photos from private accounts?
No. Private posts aren’t supported. Only download public posts or content you have permission to access.
Will the download be the “original” camera file?
Usually not. Instagram compresses many uploads. ReelGrabber downloads the best available version that Instagram provides.
Does this preserve metadata (EXIF)?
Instagram often strips metadata. If you need metadata, the best option is getting the original file from the creator.
