Public & Permission-First
ReelGrabber is designed for downloading public stories, or stories you’re allowed to access. Private/restricted profiles, paywalled content, and other restricted content aren’t supported.
For details, see our Terms and Privacy Policy.
Important: Stories Disappear After 24 Hours
Instagram stories are usually available for 24 hours after posting (unless saved to Highlights). If you’re saving your own story or a public story you have permission to use, download it before it expires.
How to Download Instagram Stories
Find the Instagram Story
Open Instagram and go to the profile that has the story you want to save. This works best for public profiles, or profiles you already follow and have permission to view.
Tip: Stories appear as colored rings around profile pictures. Tap to view the story content.
Get the Story URL
While viewing the story, tap the three dots (•••) and select "Copy Link". This copies the story URL to your clipboard.
Note: Each individual story slide has its own unique URL. Copy the URL for each story you want to download.
Download with ReelGrabber
Paste the story URL into ReelGrabber and click "Download". If the story is public (or you’re allowed to view it), the story photo or video will be prepared for download.
Download Stories NowStory Types You Can Download

Stories vs Highlights (what changes?)
Stories typically expire after 24 hours, but creators can save them as Highlights. Highlights are usually available longer, and the link format can differ.
- If the story expired: ask the creator to add it to a Highlight or send it directly.
- If there are multiple slides: each slide may have its own URL—copy the link per slide for the most reliable results.
- Music stickers: some stories with licensed music may not be downloadable the same way everywhere.
Privacy & Ethics
Respect privacy
Don’t use downloading tools to invade someone’s privacy. If a profile is private or restricted, respect that boundary.
Respect Content Creators
Only download stories for personal use. Don't redistribute or use downloaded content without permission from the original creator.
Legal Considerations
Downloading public stories for personal use is generally acceptable, but always respect copyright and privacy laws in your jurisdiction.

Troubleshooting
- “Link not found”: Double-check you copied the story link (not the profile link) and that it starts with
https://www.instagram.com. - Expired story: If it’s been more than 24 hours, ask the creator if it’s saved to Highlights or if they can share the media with you directly.
- Private/restricted profile: Private stories aren’t supported. Only download content you can legitimately access.
- Region/device issues: Try a different browser, disable aggressive ad blockers for the session, or retry after a short wait.

FAQ
Can I download stories from private accounts?
No. Private stories aren’t supported. Only download public stories or content you have permission to access.
Can I save my own stories?
Yes—saving your own stories is a common use case. Also check Instagram’s built-in options like Archive and Highlights.
Will this keep original quality?
Quality depends on what Instagram serves for that story. If you need the highest quality, ask the creator to share the original file.
